Timothy Plambeck has enjoyed the opportunity to make music at Grace UMC since March, 2023, and has served as Director of Music at Lake Forest Academy since 2001. Past church work has included directing the choir at Christ UMC Deerfield for twelve years, and Tim has an impressive background of work in conservatories and opera companies such as the Juilliard School, Manhattan School of Music, Lyric Opera of Chicago Center for American Artists, Pittsburgh Opera, and Minnesota Opera. His performance career brought him into contact with such artists as Luciano Pavarotti, Sir Neville Marriner, and movie director Robert Altman. Tim earned a bachelor’s degree from St. Olaf College where he sang in the world famous St. Olaf Choir, and a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance from the University of Michigan. He worked for many years at Interlochen Arts Camp as Music Director and Collaborative Pianist. Tim is very appreciative to be a part of the Grace Church community.
Grace Church Chancel Choir rehearses every Sunday morning from 9:00- 9:45, and sings three Sundays out of each month.
Grace Church Handbell Choir rehearses every Wednesday from 7-8 pm, and plays in church once a month.
